Hello! One more question i've spent the past day or so trying to figure out on my own but i'm helpless it seems! :(

Anyways, I have all my videos in the library, all of them organized perfectly and showing up as the correct movie file etc, and for the majority of my video files, they play perfect and everything works. But a select few i'll try to watch and I click on them, and a black screen comes up and i'll sometimes be able to hear the audio, but no video at all. Now I know its not the video file itself because if I exit MP and try to view it it works perfectly fine. I checked the format of the file and its a XVid just like the rest of my videos. So this is why i'm so confused, it appears as if its the same format as every other working video, yet it will not play?

If there is any additional information I could give you guys to aid you in helping me feel free to let me know and i'll get it for you ASAP.

Thank you for helping me!

Will they play if you exit MP, and then restart MP? I have this problem with recorded TV. Sometimes after playing a recording, the next recording I try to play won't work. I simply have to exit MP, restart MP, and then it plays fine. It's a pain. I'm hoping it's fixed in 1.0.1 or 1.0.2. Haven't tried 1.0.1 yet.

what type of video card are you using? I know for a fact some of the new ati drivers are in conflict with media portal. I have an 9600xt agp on an old amd 1300 xp machine. I loaded an older driver and the issue went away. I would also adv to install the latest xvid, divix drivers on the net. also installing vlc media player will help also.

Do all of your videos have the same file extension? You may have to add file extensions in MPConfig if it is unusual.

Thanks for the help guys, I think it may have just been an issue on my laptop which I was just learning the program on. I went home on my HTPC rig and did a fresh install of MP and the necessary codecs etc and all the videos worked flawlessly.

But to answer your questions, all my video's are the same codec, same resolution, all .avi xvid's etc, so I was really confused with why only a few of them decided not to work. I think it was a windows related problem...
