but...

MP use 40-50 MB aprox to grab 1 Min of video in DVR-MS.

If i have a TV Card with "Hardware encoding" that encode in:

MPEG-4 - by HW
AVCH.264 by HW
DivX by HW

Can mp encode in DivX or MPEG4 automatically?

regards

I think the DVR-MS format is generated by the Microsoft TV engine that Mediaportal currently uses. That being the case I think you are stuck with recording in that format. However, if I remember right you can have the files converted to other formats with FFDShow after the recording finishes (post-processing).

I also believe there are plugins for managing recordings that may add additional options for dealing with TV series or other recordings.

I would assume then you mean an analogue card, which means you should be able to lower the birate (will lower quality though).

exactly, why? (It's a Pinnacle PCTV USB2 with InterVideo codecs)
