Speed of changing channel (WAF-issue...) (1 Viewer)

Hi

Finally I got around to build my next generation htpc (you know, dvb-t + dvb-s(2) and 1080p blu-rays/mkv files). I plan to use the mpc-hc patch binaries for evr + subtitle support in 1080p. We have been using plain MCE 2005 with analog terrestial for 3-4 years and cannot live without a mediacenter. :)

I fooled around with MP 0.2.3 and liked it (and a lot of the plugins)! So naturally I grabbed 1.0.2 a while ago and started settings it up. But I'm having serious problems with the speed of channel changing. Cannot seem to get it under 25-30 seconds... and with no hourglass or spinning wheel in the gui the wife / kids dont know whats going and tries again, ... and again ...

I have tried:
- both vista and win7
- tv cards: pinnacle dvb-t (cant remember model), usb terratec T5 dual-dvbt, usb technotrend s-3600 dvb-s2, BlackGold BGT 3510 pci-e dual dvbt
- motherboards MSI Diva and ITX ION-A (both really cool, btw)
...and almost all combinations of those. Both after clean install and after fooling around with settings.

The issue is the same. Windows MCE (vista/win7) and e.g. DVBViewer changes the viewing channel in about 2-3 s (max) but with MP seems hanging or rebuilding the graph for a long time.

Anything I could have missed during setup?

Thanks

Hi - just to let you know:

I decided to try a re-install but captured a log example first. However, I forgot to set the log level
to debug first, so it might not be of any use, Im afraid.

But here are my findings anyway. This time around I selected a channel for online viewing in the guide, and
a picture came first - but was frozen. No live pictures - so I stop it.

Well, it might just be due to *not* having chosed debug log level.. :-(

The 'good' news is that after reinstall the system is much more snappy and I think it will do ok concerning WAF now.

I have no idea why it worked this time - wish I had. But I aint changing anything now...

Now that you seem to get it working, the zap-time can be adjusted in a little more in MP Configutation, I find the default 2 and 5 seconds a bit too much personally.
