Just like to say that this new MediaPortals is rock solid,,the only thing i dont like is when i see livetv and like to change channel, the time from when hiting the ok buttom and the channel list shows. Is ther any whay to speed that up?

There is very little you can do as far as I know, it takes a little bit because the time shifting file needs to buffer a second so you can pause and rew/ff live tv.

I have noticed some codecs are able to initialize a little faster, reducing the wait slightly, so you might try using a few different codecs to see if anything works better.

for the most part tho, it is a bit slow and you just have to live with it.

My cable tuner did the same thing without a dvr or timeshifting, so I am already used to it, so it doesn't bother me that much.

I've actually gotten to the point where i don't even use the channel changer anymore and just use the epg, much faster and easier to 'surf' to see what's on.
