My Task Manager lists SQLserver.exe and TVServer.exe as using the second and third highest memory (after System) even though neither MediaPortal nor TVServer is launched.
Two questions : Is this normal ?
Is it worth trying to have them inactive when MPortal or TVServer are not running?

Haapy New Year everyone

TVServer always runs in the background, and so does SQL server.

The benefit of this is that the TVServer can record things when MediaPortal is not active.

As for the Memory Usage of SQL server - SQL Server will use all the free memory it can get hold of, but if you google, you can find ways to limit the memory usage - see: https://support.activevps.com/KB/a2/setting-up-a-memory-limit-in-sql-2005.aspx.

It is normal, and the whole point of memory is to use it! free memory isnt a good thing :)
