SVN build : 11616

MP not appearing correctly after coming out of standby.

MP running, press "PC power" button on remote to put PC into standy, press button again to bring PC out of standy, PC comes on but left with a black screen..

pc tested without MP running and standy operates correctly

this happens on more than 1 system (with different hardware) so this is not hardware specific for me.

try :

- newer bios
- repost S3 video in bios
- other (newer or older) video drivers
- directx settings for mediaportal

ummm why?? when it worked fine in previous SVN builds.
the problem has only started with latest SVNs.. therefore surely it's a problem in the SVN rather then with hardware.

and as i stated... standby works fine when MP is not running!

can't at the moment... as the logs were cleared when i had to force reboot the PC.

the BAK files start after the PC was rebooted.

I suffered the same issue with the latest SVN and reverting to 0.2.1.0 solved it.

I will soon start using SVN again and if its still a problem i will post some logs.

Chenks, just standby and resume alot of times, and when it happens hit Alt-F4 to kill media portal (at least that worked for me). Then post the logfiles.

    i run in "kiosk" mode (ie no keyboard/mouse - only remote) so i can't ALT-F4 :D

    ok.. here are some logs

i loaded MP... checked weather, went back to home screen
pressed power to put into standy - PC went into standy
pressed power to bring pc back on - PC came back on
was left with black screen - MP process is running and PC is running normaly.

Same story, it started with svn of 3 days ago, but with hybernation instead of stand-by.
I tried to install today svn, but black screen and no alt+f4 possible after de-hybernation.

Log following. I think it has something to do with recent skin changes, as it seems to be waked up correctly and hung up in
[Info.][MPMain]: Main: Switch to home screen

    Thanks guys for the logs.

in there I see always that the log stops with : Main: Switch to home screen.

This means that the problem is not comming from Powerscheduler or from the standby, it is coming from the new implemented animation feature. For a quick fix, just use the skin files of an ealier svn build (before the animation was implemented) and the problems with the black screen should be gone.

We will work anyhow in the meantime on this bug to fix it :)
