I switched to windows 7 recently. Excellent OS! Better then Vista imo.

I have a small problem. When I start mediaportal, the Windows start button stays visible everywhere I go. When I'm in the home screen, when I play a video etc.

I 've found a workaround, but not a solution. When I switch the option: "Keep Mediaportal on top" in the general config, the start button is gone. But I use ALT-TAB a lot. With this option turned on, it is not useable anymore.

Is there a solution for this problem? Is it a windows 7 problem or a Mediaportal problem?

:D

Tell W7 to auto-hide taskbar

EDIT:

Tried it, but when I set the Auto-hide option, I see the top line of the taskbar in al windows. When I set "hide taskbar" in Mediaportal config, I get the annoying start button back.

Anyone other solutions?

thx

Found a solution:

To fix it go to the exe-file ("C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe") > right click > Properties > Compatibility > disable display scaling on high DPI setting > OK

I have the same problem.

Enabling of autohide of W7 taskbar didn't help.
Disabling the display scaling on high DPI setting changed size of the menu items and others in MP.

Any other help or advice?

Thanks.

Weird...I noticed that when I first start mediaportal I see the start button over mediaportal as well, but then after about 5-10 seconds it goes behind it. I don't have always-on-top set on mediaportal because then it breaks my emulators, so I'm not sure what is different about my installation that it works or not - I haven't made any specific changes.

Check if you have scaled your windows icon/font size larger than default. You may also need to delete the MP cache.
