Static audio problem (1 Viewer)

Evening.

First off want to give a big thanks to the MediaPortal team. It was the only application that got my old NVTV card to work under Vista.

Right, to the problem. I just got done installing MediaPortal and ran through the configuration. All went smoothly. It even found all my channels and gave off a really crisp image. The only downside was the audio. No matter what channel it's on, it just gives a constant static sound. Now I assume it's related to the audio device you select when going through the configuration, but I've tried a few of them and they all end in the same result.

Was just wondering if anyone else has experienced a similiar problem? Maybe there is a codec out there I'm missing? I'm running Vista Ultimate 32bit, and the TV card is Nvidia's NVTV running the latest drivers.

Appreciate any help that can be offered. Cheers.

Same problem here. Am on Windows XP with a sapphire theatrix card. This is new for me with RC3 but unfortunately I did a complete re-install from the OS up, so can't guarantee that Mediaportal is the only thing that changed (allthough I think it is). All other audio works fine.

For others that have this problem or simply stuttering sound, there is a hard truth! The audio on this card is only encoded via software! Yes you will find a nvaudenc.ax and a nvmux.ax in the windows system folder. Its a stupid software encoder for the audio signals while the video is hardware encoded and thats where the problems begin. I hate it because it would just be a very nice card. Good picture quality but higher cpu use at record or tvview means louder fans :-( Only because the want to save 5 Cent!
