Hi all - I have set up MP PC on Win XP Pro SP2, using the latest stable build of MP. I have installed the MCE replacement plugin and driver and it is working well. I have set up using the instructions in this forum and in the help documentation for the plugin.

However the only problem I am getting is the blasting doesn't seem to work. MP learns the codes fine from my Philips TV remote (a One-For-All remote), my Yamaha stereo remote, and also a Philips stereo. When I send these learnt codes using the 'Test' function in the IR commands area or the Macro area, the lights flash on the blasters. However the TV and both stereos do not respond to the blasting at all. The test macro I have written seems to work in all respects - I have tried the Pause function, and also sending commands to the 2 different ports.

I have also tried the 4 different speed settings both from the General section of the driver, and from within a Macro.

Is it that the blasters only work with STBs and not stereos, TVs, etc?

Any help appreciated

Cheers

I helped my brother with this problem by replacing the ir-diodes on his microsoft remote blasters with a standard diode for remote controls. In this case it seems like the original diodes where too weak to control the amplifier.

Its a simple thing to do if you're not to afraid to take some risks and have a MS control. I bought a 3,5mm monoplug with attached cable and a diode. To test it I held the cables to the diode and used a digital camera to see whether the diode flashed or not (its only IR-light, no flashing red light) before I took out the soldering iron.

He has been using this construction for about 6 months now and still no complaints.
