After a quick search finding nothing.
How does one stop a scheduled recording once it has started???
I had a show scheduled for weekly recording. I then noticed that for this week only it was shifted 1 hour later so, I wanted to stop the current scheduled recording (it had already started) and manually do it 1 hour later.
The problem is I couldn't find any way to stop the scheduled recording???
Is there a way to do this or is it required for it run it's course and re-record later?

It seems like once a scheduled recording starts you can't stop it.

Cheers
Leon

Go to the guide, select the show that's being recorded and press record again. It gives you an option to stop the current recording.

Thanks for the advice but, it doesn't work for manual scheduled recordings.
Funny thing is that in the TV section there is a 'Stop Recording' menu entry however it seems to have no effect.
It works on recordings started with the record button though.

Another way to do it is on the Live TV page, there's a option on the menu on the left called Active Recordings (or something like that). That lists all the current recordings, and selecting one of them gives you the option to stop it. See if that works for you.

Also, you can go into Recorded TV and delete the unfinished recording from the list (select it and press 0).

This is all assuming you're using TVServer - I'm not sure if those things are the same with the old TV2 Engine.

    Active Recording section doesn't work.
The recordings are listed but, when I try to select one of them all it does is exit back to the Live TV menu.
It works for recordings started with the Record button though.

Will try your second suggestion and yes, I am using TV Server.

How do I stop an active recording?

    Hi.
I searched this thread and could not find an answer to my question:
How do I stop an active recording?
I use only: TV Server 1.0.4.23491 with Power Scheduler and MediaPortal 1.0.4.23491 and PowerScheduler client plugin.

I installed Windows7 64bit today and installed MediaPortal.....now I have the same problem....I just cant stop a recording. MediaPortal asks if I want to stop, but after I select "YES" nothing happens, the recoding continues.

I solved my problem, I changed the recording and time-shift directories....now its working  Why this worked I don,t know but its fixed...:D

Well I recently switched to Win 7 x64 and MP 1.1 beta and the problem still exists.
    You can't stop scheduled recordings.
None of the previous suggestions have any effect at all.
Surely this is an oversight, bug or just something unique to my HTPC.
Do any of the developers have any idea why this is as it would seem to me that stopping recordings no matter how they were started is important.

    Cheers

I think their is definitely an issue with stopping programs during the pre-record phase, which is when most people will try and stop recording. In the middle of a recording, going to the TV guide and selecting stop works for me. Hopefully MP2 will be more user friendly in this regard, allowing for a simple menu option directly over the TV picture and asking if you want to stop recording if you try and navigate to another channel.
