Hi,

MP crashes in the background when using MyTV plugin, but it doesn't when the plugin is disabled.
When I say "it crashes in the background", I mean that a crash window appears on the background, but MP continues to work...
This crash is a little difficult to reproduce, so I think it occurs either :
- when I switch to analog-TV in MyTV (stuttering, can't find why, doesn't stutter with digital-TV)
- each time I exit MyTV to the home screen.

Here's my windows event log (reported as a ".NET RunTime 2.0 error") :
Code:
Faulting application mediaportal.exe, version 0.2.2.9993, stamp 4734f408, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, stamp 00000000, debug? 0, fault address 0x2e36333a.

This crash occurs on stable 0.2.3, and with my current SVN version.
I already repaired .NET framework 2, but no success.

Any idea ?

I'll answer to myself... again... :p

I just
- formated the HTPC
- installed WinXP Pro SP2
- made a full windows update
- installed .net framework 2
- installed DirectX 9.0c (august)
- installed Windows Media Player 10
- installed WinTV HVR 1110 card with MCE 3.1H CD
- installed Hauppauge MCE_soft_encoder
- installed DVB hotfix
- installed BDA hotfix
- installed codecs (ffdshow, Haali Media Splitter, VSFilter)
- installed MediaPortal 0.2.3 RC3 without any plugin or skins
- setup MP and MyTV plugin (using https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/hauppauge_hvr_1110_philips_step_forward-t28371.html method)

Now, I can say I've a fresh installation :)
But MP keeps "crashing in the background"... :(
But now, I know what causes the crash : it's exactly when the TV card is turned off (exiting MyTV or turning it off manually in MyTV). It doesn't crash everytime, but maybe 90% of the time.

Here is my new MP logs archive, if it can help (I don't really know what to look for)

Any help would be very appreciated :D

I have the same problem, but mine also crashes when I try to timeshift or record. But I can still use mediaportal even though the error message comes up, like you...

Did you solve it somehow?

After a full reinstall from scratch (Windows+MP), and keeping this problem, I finally found what caused the crash : the analog part of the HVR-1110 in mediaportal (bad analog-digital switch, bad analog shutdown by MP).

My temporary (working) solution is using K!TV for analog TV, and MyTV for digital, but it seem to be a conflict beetween MP IR remote and hauppauge IR.exe, needed for K!TV (I launch K!TV and IR.exe via a batch in MP, and kill K!TV and IR.exe via another batch launched by the remote while K!TV is running)...

Sometimes, another problem occurs with digital TV in MP : the digital part is not shut down properly on MyTV exit, so K!TV is unable to start the analog part ("K!TV unable to start directshow device" or something similar) . So I have to return to MyTV, manually shut down the digital part, and finally return to K!TV...

I'm dreaming about the full support of my HVR-1110 in MP, digital and analog, without a bug... Maybe should I test the last official release of MP (and lose all my settings :p )

I am having exactly the same problem expect that it crashes 100% of the time.

Initially i was using a PVR-150 (analog) flawlessly without any problems, subsequently i added a TT DVB-C-1500 and the problem occurred. Well, there is one thing when i start myTV with a analog channel and try to turn off myTV it crashes as well!!! But why? I havent even used my digital card! the problem disappear when i remove the dvb-c card.

I thought its TV-Server related, but isnt - i was told it is an hardware issue but dont think so.

you are using a ati card as well (my one -> radeon x1300) maybe i sould try a different graphic card.

keep my posted if any solution may come up!
