If I insert a CD, DVD or audio CD while MediaPortal is running, I do not see any file or folder on the CD from MP or Windows Explorer. Immediately after I close MediaPortal and refresh Windows Explorer, I can see the files and folders. When I run Media Portal again with same CD or DVD media already inserted and recognized, I start seing the files and folders in MediaPortal. I can play most multimedia files except for .cda audio cd files (where I get a codec error message - this problem reported separately). My drive is LiteOn iHES108 - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM / BD-ROM drive - Serial ATA. I can access the media and play the files in Windows Media Player.

How can you even do that?
Do you run MP in windowed mode?

While using MP "normally" ( Fullscreen, as HTPC application) i can not confirm any issues with CD and DVD access/playback.

How can I do it? I use a dual screen.
I tried to reproduce the problems on another machine - works fine. I wonder if this relates to a SATA blu-ray drive and adual screen on my main PC, but this should not make a difference, should it?

I guess, I should try a regular DVD reader and disconnect one monitor on my main PC to narrow down the problem.

I wonder if my attached logs show any clue?

What I have found: if I start MediaPortal with media in the drive, it works as expected and then I can change CDs and they are recognized properly when MP is running. If I start MediaPortal without anything in the drive, it does not recognize any new media in the drive. So the workaround is to always have something in the drive when you start MediaPortal, but I still don't understand why this is happening.
