hi guys.
I have a very strange problem with h264 decoding. I'm using the mpc-hc decoder. It gives perfect results and dxva. However it only works with the first movie played within MP. If i stop the movie and try playing another one I get an error saying 'unable to play'. It makes no difference which is played first and second. The first always plays and thats it. As if the decoder gets locked and never released...
Any suggestions?
thanks!

I have exactly the same problem. Ive had same issue with MediaPortal versions 1.0.1, 1.0.2 and now with 1.1 alpha.
I have been browsing the forum searching for solutions, have tried different codecs, installed SAF, uninstalled it, have done few clean installations, nothing helps.
Tried using Cyberlink decoder also, but then i wasnt able to play correctly videos which were not DXVA compatible.
Also tried using alternate splitter pack made by user Win7, that seemed to fix it ( didnt try it for long though), but i cant use it since his splitter doesnt support subtitles.

It seems that issue is somewhere in communication between MediaPortal, Haali splitter and MPC-HC decoder...

Logs attached.

Thanks,
GV

I still couldn't find a solution, so I gave up on DXVA playback...

I switched to coreAVC. Obviously this is a CPU stress, but the movies are playing now fine.

Might be Win7 related. First try to get win 7 support is in 1.1 alpha... which is only for testing purposes of course
