MediaPortal Version: v1.1 Revision:23684 + Scythe42s dlls (the #0002060 patch) Windows Version: 7 Ultimate 32-bit CPU Type: C2D @ 3GHz / i920 @ 4.2GHz HDD: Intel X25-M G2 80GB / Intel X25-M G2 80GB Memory: 4GB DDR2 / 12GB DDR3 Motherboard: ASUS P5K Deluxe / Gigabyte X58 UD5 Video Card: nvidia 8600 / nvidia 9600 Video Card Driver: 190.62 / 191.03 Sound Card: Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 / RME Fireface 800 MPEG2 Video Codec: MPC-HC / Microsoft (included in Windows 7) / Cyberlink PDVD 8 and 9 h.264 Video Codec: MPC-HC / Microsoft (included in Windows 7) / Cyberlink PDVD 8 and 9 /CoreAVC 1.9.5 TV: Pioneer Kuro LX608 / Pioneer Kuro KRP-600A TV - HTPC Connection: HDMI I tested this problem on two computers, with diffrent forceware drivers, diffrents codecs etc etc. Same result: I use the dc.exe method for refresh rate changing, but I have encountered a big problem. If I watch movies with diffrent frame rates in the following order I get very choppy playback. 1. Start a 1080i source...Have MediaPortal change the refresh rate to 59.94Hz 2. Switch to a 1080p (23.976 or 24fps) source...Have MediaPortal change the refresh to 23.976 or 24Hz Now the playback can become very stuttery. It seems like the renderer is not refreshed,. or that playback is in a strange state trying to catch the v-sync or frames arriving to late or somthing. I first thought that this was caused because deinterlacing was not initiated properly. But as I seen this behavior the other way around (going from 29.97fps material to 23.976fps) that can't be the cause. To fix this you must minimize MediaPortal and interact with another window. Then go back to MediaPortal and the playback is perfect. A similar stutter can be provoked by jumping back and forth in a movie. Sometimes the stutter start and can be solved by the fix described above. I have read many posts that confirm this problem by other MediaPortal users. So I don't think my hardware is to blame. I 'cant figure anything out from the logs attached.
