[no Bug] Stuttering during HD TV Viewing (1 Viewer)

Hi there.

I have seen a number of bugs along these lines, but I don't know if mine aree the same cause, so I thought I would post my own post.

Since RC 4 I have been experiancing some fairly bad stuttering with HD TV which I did not see with RC3, RC2 or RC1.

It seems to occur when there is fast moving images on the screen.

A little bit more information for it it helps.

This seems to happen with BBC HD, but not ITV HD.

Not sure why.

For me BBC HD was working fine (with PDVD9 codec).... then I noticed a week or so ago stuttering - but nothing had changed on my system (for a change!)

After a lot of playing/changing (new DLL's, different ATI versions, different codecs, etc) I managed to get it "working" by running the MS DTV codec.

I see you have asked this question on other sites too - chances are you are right, the Beeb have changed something to get the most out of the streams (chances are in rediness for the WC!)

The BBC have changed the BBC HD stream from constant bit-rate 9.8mbs to variable bit rate in anticipation of BBC ONE HD.

In my case, BBC HD was ok before with PDVD10 codec (SAF5), but is now stuttering badly. I have switched to Arcsoft codec (HD Pack 2.4) which seems to be working fine.

Same here, I get stuttering on both HD channels (ITV HD and BBC HD) since RC4, it was fine in RC3. It seems better in MS DTV codec, but still not 100% perfect. Before I could use Powerdvd9 codec, but it stutters badly with this codec now.

I have just installed the latest SAF 5 experimental and it seems to have fixed it.

Can a Dev please set my post to NO BUG please.
