    I hava a strange problem.
On some 1080p files i get stuttering the whole film.
    On others it works fine..

I've tried the DXVA Checker and CPU and GPU is at 10 %, but always stuttering.
I use the PowerDVD 9 Codec with DXVA 1 !

When i use the VLC Player outside MP all films working without stuttering.

So where is the problem with PowerDVD Codec or the DIVX 7 Codec (the same issue)!

    AW: Stuttering on few files

Thanks for your reply, but the problem i think is not MediaPortal.

When i check the movies with DXVA Checker and i use to the the PowerDVD 9 Codec i have the same issue.
    Stuttering...

Only with VLC Player it works fine...

Ofcourse I could be totally wrong about this, but this is my guess.

My bet is some 1080p files are out of BD-spec. BluRay specification for 1920x1080 material contains maximum of 4 reference frames.
If you have movies with more than 4RF (@1920x1080), it will stutter or not play. It is a limitation of the ATI card. It is easilly capable of decoding more than 4 ref frames with DXVA, but ATI has choosen (for now) it is not supporting it. It has to do with the various different UVD engines.
Probably the reason why it is working in VLC is it recognises the problem and switches to software decoding. Do you see a high(er) cpu load when playing it in VLC?

And in that case MP logs will help since media info is logged :)

    Thanks this makes sense...
I've tried today PowerDVD 10 and in MP the same problem, but when i play the file directly in PowerDVD 10 the stuttering is gone !?!? Very strange...

The same with PowerDVD 9, but when i use the DXVA Checker and play the file with PowerDVD9 i get stuttering.
The same with the new DIVX 8.

So it seems only in MediaPortal and DXVA Checker the movie is stuttering.
With PDVD9, PDVD10 and VLC there is no stuttering..

Is there any way to find out how the file is encoded?
I want to see if more than 4RF exists..

Probably the reason why it is working in VLC is it recognises the problem and switches to software decoding. Do you see a high(er) cpu load when playing it in VLC?]

I don't know, but at this time i can not try it because my girlfriend is watching "Grey's Anatomie" :)

But with DXVA Checker and PDVD9 or 10 the CPU load is about 10 % !
When i watch in PDVD9/10 directly the CPU load is 70% ... so DXVA is not used...

And in that case MP logs will help since media info is logged :)

I will add MP logs :)
