Synopsis::
I'm thinking this is a codec/configuration issue within MediaPortal since this problem doesn't occur when playing video files in PowerDVD.
MPEG-2 (720p and 1080i) files and 1080p MPEG-4 files have horrible stuttering (in both audio and video) while running in MediaPortal fullscreen mode. They seem to be okay running in windowed mode.
The codecs listed above are only what I tried most recently. I've tried every video and audio codec, including Cyberlink 7 (which plays even BluRay discs fine and dandy in PowerDVD).
Though MediaPortal only seems to see 2gb of RAM, there's actually 3 gigs in there, which Windows as a whole has no problem seeing all of.
Those same MPEG-2 and 1080p MPEG-4 files play fine in both PowerDVD Ultra 7 and Windows Media Player 11, with very little CPU usage, which implies the hardware decoding in the video card is working as it should in those programs.
In Vista Media Center, all MPEG-2 files play fine. 1080p MPEG-4 files play without stuttering but out of sync.
720p MPEG-4 files play fine and in sync in all players including MediaPortal fullscreen.
Suggestions how to get MPEG-2 and 1080p MPEG-4 to play correctly in MediaPortal's fullscreen mode?
Thanks!
