Hi,

I have find different issues about subtitle from .m2ts and .mkv (embedded).
I use standalone filter (MPC Splitter Matroska for MKV and MPG Mpeg Splitter for .m2ts).
I put link to filter and sample and log to try to reproduce issues :

For .m2ts, i put 2 samples :
1- Sample_SUB_OK.m2ts (Working)
2- sample_multisub_new.m2ts (Not Working)

For MKV :
1- only a sample (not working), i have also a long sample with multiple audio and embedded subs that it not working.

I have try 2 modes :
1- Directvobsub (fixed by Manfred for mkv)
2- MPC-HC

For Directvobsub, Only .m2ts doesn't work.
For MPC-HC, MKV embedded and somes .m2ts doesn't work too.
You can see it with the log file : 2010.02.21_18H00_MediaPortal.zip for .m2ts
and 2010.02.21_18H30_MediaPortal(MKV).rar for .mkv

2010.03.07 :
MPC-HC (subtitle mode in config) :
For .mt2s : Jaybeam find solution (it's a bug in MPC MPEG Gabest filter) -> Remux .mt2s in BD mode with tsmuxer -> Subtitle working after.
For .mkv : Cpp2005 provide a patch (thanks to him to add this support) for the dll mpcsubs.dll that enable embedded subtitle.
-> All working Good

DirectVobSub (subtitle mode in config) :
For .mt2s : (only external file subtitle working).
For .mkv : -> all working good (thanks to Manfred to add this support) with SVN in MPC Matroska filter in splitter mode (for working in source mode) i provide a patch to enable this feature (a very little patch lol).

Be Carefull : This patch must be verified and accepted by Dev team.

MP doesn't support embeded subtitles in with MPC Splitter Matroska. Only haali is currently supported.

Edit : Why using MPC filter ? it's because with it we can use HD Audio Bitstream
Edit2 : Sorry, My fault i didn't test with MPC-HC (software) and with m2ts with working in MP it works too in MPC and with the sample that didn't work the same thing in MPC-HC, so i think it's a splitter MPEG issue.
I have try with sample MKV and it works in MPC-HC (software) but not in MP.

Hi Sebastiii,

One thing i noticed, in m2ts i have to first disable the subtitles before i can enable them ...

using SAF 4 RC 2 and using microsoft video decoders and ffdshow audio decoders win 7 64

i'm currently on build 25111.

just first in the subtitle menu select subtitles off, and after that select your preferred subtitle

With this sample i don't get any subtitles at all, not even an option, guess your and my problem aren't related.

there's a workaround to enable subtitle support in m2ts with MPC-splitter.
Mux your m2ts files with TSmuxer into bluray format and disable the external blu-ray player in Moving Pictures (default).
this way the internal video player wil strangly enough pick up the subtitles and different audio streams.

Thanks for your tip, but i try it and not working, some .m2ts works and other don't, i see that a ticket was open for this issue (3 months) and it comes from MPC Mpeg Splitter.
I have make some test and i didn't find the difference between sample (same Guid etc.)
