I'm not 100% sure if this an improvement suggestion or a bug, because I cannot find a definitive answer about how MP handles subtitles.

It would appear from the testing I've done, and the threads on the subject in the forums that:

    1. MP cannot control (ie turn on or turn off with the "L" key) "external" subs (.idx and .sub files). They are always displayed, if vobsub finds the subtitle files.

    2. MP cannot cycle through multiple subtitle tracks on MKV's with multiple subtitle tracks. Pressing the "L" key only cycles between not displaying subtitles, and displaying the first subtitle track.

The work around I am using at the moment is to right click on the vobsub tray icon to switch external subtitles on / off, or switch subtitle tracks (internal or external).

hi, i watch a lot of anime so subs are very important to me.

    1. i am not positive but i think this works correctly for me.

    2. if you are reffering to embedded subs in a .mkv, then this definitely works correctly as i do it all the time.I add directvobsub to the postprocessing list, say load when needed and select internal and external

I have another problem with subtitles. And that is : How do I get rid of them after watching the movie. To delete the movie from inside MediaPortal is easy, but I have to go into Explorer to delete the subtitles. Could it not be possible to delete both the movie and the subtitle at the same time?
