Hello all,

I am experiencing a small issue with subtitles in my TV recordings. Often when I want to show the subtitles at playback time, they just don't appear. The way I fix it is to get the recording to play in a small window (in the recorded TV menu for example) and then to switch back to full screen.

So not a major issue as I fix it with two clicks of the remote, but I thought I'd mention it.

From logs I an see you have teletext subs.

Those are initialized after a while by broadcasters, usually. Can you please wait a bit more and see if it's only a timing issue ?

Hi Simone,

Yes in Australia, broadcasters are using Page 801 teletext for subtitles (or at least this is what i understand).

Not sure if it's a timing issue though because I could play the recording for 2 minutes and the subtitles still wouldn't show up, and then play it again and they would appear straight away. It's inconsistent.

As mentioned above, I fix it by pressing Guide so the recording is played in the small window (and then I can see the subtitles) and then back to return to full screen. So not a big deal, even my wife can do it

This did not happen with Beta 1.1 with SVN 24975 or 1.0.2.

I've tried the updated core.dll and the problem remains.

Can you supply a small fragment of a recording that has this problem so we can do more testing / debuging?

I have successfully reproduced your issue using RC1. Using latest SVN I can no longer reproduce it so it should be fixed (see: 0002788: teletext subtitles only working the first time. - MediaPortal Bugtracker)

Please test again when RC2 is out and if the issue persists start a new bug report.
