Subtitles problem on NAS drive (1 Viewer)

Hi all!

I've been using MediaPortal for some time now... It works great.
Recently I bought an external network drive (NAS), where I put my videos, photos, etc...
After some tests I realised that, using this drive, the subtitles stopped working. I can't find any explanation for this, because it works properly on the PC's HDD.
I think it's not a bad configuration of Mediaportal. The same appens when oppening with MediaPlayer Classic... I have to manually open the .srt file after loading the video. And yes, both files have the same name....

Can anyone give me a hint on how to solve this?

Thanks in advance.
Best regards

Which version of MediaPortal are you using?

Have you double checked that the subtitles are set to autoload?
    MediaPortal Configuration -> Video -> Subtitle[Tab] -> Autoload (checked).

I'm using version 1.02... Checked again that option and it's on autoload.
This only happens when openning files from NAS. On local HDD subtitles are ok
I mounted the NAS drive as a network share on windows. Could it have something to do with this, or perhaps some kind of configuration on windows explorer?

    Thanks Seidelin

I am guessing here but you could try changing the mapping to something like \\Computername\sharename\folder rather than Z: (or vice versa).

And report back if it makes a difference.

    Hi Seidelin,

:( Unfortunatly still doesn't work. I tried using path on Begin->Execute and mapping using explorer (Z:). The share is password protected, but windows saves it, opening the folder every time with no prompt.
When I copy files to my local HDD some security alert pops up with some sort of warning about copying files from secure locations...
Can any of these previous details give some clue to solve the auto-load problem?

    Thanks

    EDIT - SOLVED

    Hi again,

I'm back to this subject to post a solution I found to solve this issue. Simply convert both files into one: the subtitle file (ex. srt) and video file (ex. avi) into a mkv file. There are converters that do the job in just 60 seconds.

    Working fine now ;)
