After using Mediaportal succesfully for months now, today suddenly Mediaportal freezes at start up, with -Initializing DirectX- on screen (full screen/tv). Thereby also Windows Vista freezes completely. Have to do a hard reboot. I have already searched the forum for some sollutions, installed the newest video card drivers, newest directx 9 (DXDiag shows everything is working OK) but i didnt solve the problem.

Since yesterday, the day MP still worked fine, i havent made any changes in the hardware configuration or the drivers used (only installed some software, which i have already removed).

Dude, i got the same condition you got.

Every once in while after waking up mp hangs with "Initializing DirectX", restarting of TV-Service does not help, only rebooting helps.

I do notice we have the same chipset ( ATI 690g ) on the rigg. Maybe it is one of the odds of them again?
