Suggestion for new plugin: MyMovies (1 Viewer)

Hi. Im new to mediaportal mainly because I'm using VMC.

But I really want to switch to MP but i cant just yet due to the fact that the great plugin MyMovies only exist on VMC.... and this is here my suggestion get into the picture:

Binnerup (the developer of MyMovies) recently opened up for others to create frontends to other mediacenter software. I'm not a developer myself so I'm hoping someone else could make a frontend to MP for this great plug-in.

I have used the plugin you mentioned and do not think it is much more than what MP has now, as piranha said if fforde gets his new movie plugin working how he wants it to work, it should knock the spots of other htpc software.

And remember this is my default view of Movies anyway with the built in MyMovies, so a lot better than MCE, whichever flavour

MyFilms plugin already works with a MyMovies XML database here

Not sure if your still interested but I have a working (but incomplete) MP plugin for MyMovies2 database.
It will even work from a remote client with auto wakeup feature using a magic packet but is only configured for Blue3Wide.

Can the new moving pictues import data from local XML files or any other local data? If not then I would really like to have a look at the Mymovies plugin

My Films uses and can import from several common databases.
Movingpictures uses it's own custom database.

MyMovies plugin.

Hi Guys,

Attached is an unfinished (but working) version of the plugin.
known issues are:

• Actors yet to be implemented.
• The classification may be incorrect depending upon the DVD region data.
• File monitoring not supported, import using the MyMovies offline tool.
• Tested ONLY with version 1.0

Note:

• Remote wakeup will wakeup a server but share monitoring is required to keep it awake. I submitted a patch for this ages ago but I am running version 1.0 and it is not implemented in this version.
• Tested using Vista32, MyMovies version 2.52

Just extract the files to the installed Mediaportal directory.
