There are priests from both sides that will convince you that XP or 7 is the only way to go...I would try 7 first, as it has potential for better quality and is more modern in all. If you have issues with that you can always try XP. In 7 you may use just the included Win7 Codecs (just install Hali Splitter and nothing else) and be up and running as far from Codec Hell as possible. As most devs of MP use 7 by now, it is probably the best way to go (esp. MP 2 will not support XP anymore).</blockquote>
