hi,

i only want to ask if someone has the same problem like me:

after the installation of the newest SVN i can´t setup ffdshow for audio decoding (MPA seems always to be loaded instead). the ffdshow video decoder can be used without problems.

i use this ffdshow version: ffdshow-rev2546-SSE2.exe

but i also tried other older versions ...

have a nice evening

    Hi,
Just tested & it works here as it should.
If you provide litle more information about system & what you try to play (video, tv, dvd, etc) & a link to the version you use.

    Regards

with the SVN from 20060508 everything was ok here. i only updated the MP ... perhaps i try to reinstall it ...

i try to play back videos ... the problem was that after the installation of the new SVN i had a problem with the sound ... some things changed in the configuration according to volume settings. after i changed the radio button there to MASTER VOLUME i could hear everything again.

after this procedure i watched a movie (nero digital mp4 with aac inside) and the volume was really quiet (then i recognized that my ffdshow-audio decoder for aac was not loaded --> i use the normalize option of ffdsghow). instead of ffdshow i could see that MPA is loaded and decodes audio ... but i set ffdshow for doing this.

    i hope this helps...

May I ask where you set the merits?
For me ffdshow gets in place if selected..

I can verify this behavior. Just used graphedit and an Xvid file. Even thow FFDshow audio is set in MP configuration.exe, MPa is being used.

This also happens when rendering the media file in Grap[hedit so it does not appear to be an MP issue, rather it is a global OS issue, and likely related to the codec itself.

Which means you may have to unistall the MPa or deregister it in order to use FFDshow Audio.

Just remember that after you have applied a new SVN & run start.bat you probably re-register the MPA filter again :?

    Unregistering

Same problem here, fixed by unregistering MpaDecFilter:

    regsvr32.exe /u /s "%windir%\system32\MpaDecFilter.ax"

I take care, every time I install a new SVN build, to REM the 4 (actually 8) lines related to the stuff copied in system32...

This seems to be a "feature" of the new MPA release then..

What do you need ffdshow for?
Normalization should work with MPA, too.
