I'm thinking of taking the hybrid card out of my system and replacing it with separate DVB-S2 and DVB-T cards. What's the best way of going about the swap? If I install a new DVB-S card (I'm only using the DVB-S part of the hybrid at the moment) and run a scan, will MP be happy with that (and leave all my channel grouping and ordering alone), or will it be confused because channels are linked to a card that no longer exists? Should I remove all channel mapping from the existing card before I uninstall it?
Bit off-topic for this part of the forum, but I've been pretty happy with the HVR-3000 so was going to stick with Hauppauge and go for a pair of Nova cards (one dual DVB-T and one DVB-S2, whatever the model names are). Anybody got any reason why not to go that way?
Thanks,
Rob
Actually, it's just been pointed out to me on another thread that I don't actually need DVB-S2 at the moment to pick up the BBC HD etc, so it's likely I'll be keeping the existing card for DVB-S and just adding another DVB-T tuner so I can use them simultaneously. I'd still be interested in the answer to my question though, for when I do ever change the DVB-S card.
