Hello all swedish users of MP

Today I had a look at LordMessis new translation page and again it hit me:
Why must all main menu items start with "MY" (dvs. "Min") :?:

I'm new to htpc, but I guess it's old habbit from MyHTPC times ?
In my mind it don't make mutch sense to translate "Music" to "Min Musik" ?

Why not get rid of "MIN" / "MINA" and just spell it like "Musik", "Filmer"...
I know I can edit it my self as I like it, but if I download a CVS I might very well lose it.

So all swedish users - give some comments in this thread !

I allso vote for skipp it. I usualy go throug the language file and delete them manualy, but I update CVS quite often so then they usualy return....

(btw, even if I'm from finland I use the Swedish language file because my mother tongue is swedish)

I totally agree, I'd like to see it go in the english version too.

This whole 'My' stuff is from Microsofts My Documents, with My Pictures, My Files and what not. So anoying to find folders with all begining with My.

Same goes for menues, if it ain't My Movies then who's is it??? ;-)

I think it was noted somewhere else on this forum, but just to bring it to the forefront again, Microsoft will be dropping the "My" moniker on the folders, computer, etc. with the next version of Windows (Vista, aka Longhorn). Just FYI.

Yeah sure.. drop it.. we do not need "my" (min/mina).... the only reason it could be there is if MP supported multiple users/profiles with a easy "switch" (so daddy can have whatever he wants in his video folder  )

I read in the Java ticker that someone (probably Smirnuff) had made changes to the language file handling making it possible to set the prefixes. If that is the case it should be simple for everyone that do not like the "My" prefix (such as me) to get rid of it.

    Edit:
Downloaded the latest CVS and language tags now look like:
    Code (Text):
    1. <string Prefix="My ">
    2.   <id>1</id>
    3.   <value>Pictures</value>
    4. </string>
It seems that the option to remove the "My" prefix is finally on its way!
