It would be a nice (and simple?) feature to add.

I find myself many times listening to radio (or even TV), without watching for hours...

Not only it would be AC economy but also help prolong crt/lcd/plasma life (and lessed ghosting for those who suffer of this... remember radio screen is just a static screen).

Use OS call to switch off display completely (not just pop a black screen - but it could start that way if the other is hard to implement).

Ability to attach this to a button on remote.

What do you think?

That's already implemented in current version. You can select this in the configuration program under general settings.
When not in full screen video/TV mode MP will blank after 1 minute and if the option selected also switch the monitor to standby.

indeed, but it is not configurable in any way, nor selectable by the user, when the user wants (i.e. "video off" button)

Actually I tried this monitor standy screen saver

I also noticed that to "turn on" monitor again I had to move my mouse or press a key on my keyboard.

It would NOT stop the screensaver when just controlling MP with my Hauppauge remote.

This must definately be a bug ?

    Best wishes

I think yes. I was planning to write the same thing. It ignores remote signals.
