System.Outofmemoryexception (1 Viewer)

Memory:

I have used mediaportal without problems for the last year on an old Dell laptop (on XP) and its great especially when combines with KMPlayer. I have just re-installed on a new laptop, an Aspire 5739G with 4GB of RAM on Windows 7 and also on a Desktop with 4gb RAM using vista 64 bit. When using the video scanning facility in the configuration tool utility both installs crash after going through the first few films with a fault message of System.OutOfMemoryException. The videos are held on an external 2TB hard drive. Can any one help why I can scan the 2tb drive on a old laptop using XP but not on new machines under vista or windows 7?
