On my F drive I store all my music mp3s. I've created genre Folders and within these folders each CD is stored in a folder.
Structure on F:

If I enter the World folder and enter in a folder there no duration is displayed beside each song:

If I enter all the other folders and enter in CDs there the duration get's displayed (eg CD within singles):

I've deleted the logs, installed the latest svn then did a rescan of my music and then entered in the CDs an aftwerwards zipped the log files (attached in the post).

This Bug is very strange and is at least here since 0.2.3.0.

Also if I enter in a genre folder of the second line (in small icon view) and leave up to the main view with the genre folders aftwerwards the position always snaps to Rock&Pop. (eg. enter in Singles, leave Singles instead of the curser position beeing on Singles again the curser jumps to rock&pop).

Hope this can be tracked down.

I investigated the problem that the duration is not displayed in all CDs of the World folder futher and I probably found out the cause of it.
I counted the mp3's of the folders alternative to singles and there are exactly 11022 mp3's in it. That's what's in the log of configuration. The tag reader simply skips the world folder (that contains another 1154 mp3's).
I've the genre folders directly in F:\. The F disk also contains the System Volume Information folder. (I display all the hidden files and folders in the explorer).
It seems as if the tag reader want's to scan the System Volume Information folder, can't access it an simpy stops with the scan.
I think it should not be very difficult to fix this bug.

I now did a futher test: I gave the user rights to read the System Volume Information folder an then did a complete rescan of the mp3's. This time the tagreader did not stop reading when trying to access the System Volume Information folder. It scanned through all folders (incl. the World folder).
Giving reafing permission for the System Volume Information folder is my workaround for now.

Can no one confirm this bug in the tagreader?

I would be very happy if this could be fixed.

ok, i'll have a look at it.
though the most easiest way would be to Create a Directory named "Music" or whatever you like and have that as a share instead of the drive. then we wouldn't even try touching the "System Volume Information" folder.

Hwahrmann thanks a lot for looking into it!
It is for me no problem putting all music in a subfolder or simply giving read permissions to the System Volume Information folder.
But I think it's possible that other MP users have music shares with (sub-)folders where the user that runs MP does not have read permission - for whatever reason. They then probably have the same problem without knowing why.
In my opinion most secure and clean it would be, that folders without read permission would simply be skipped when doing a scan of the database instead of simply stopping the scan on such a folder. Though I did not do extensive testing and don't know if this is valid for locked sub folders as well.

    Hwahrmann thanks a lot!
With the latest SVN the scan works without any problem. The scan no longer stops when reaching the locked System Volume Information folder. (Did remove the read permission to the System Volume Information folder to see if it works)
