Hi,

I have following problems, with my TBS 5980 CI USB Card:

- after power down my computer TBS 5980 is still active (blue diode lightning) until I power on computer again or unplug/plug power cable from TBS5980
- after resuming computer from standby mode I receive message "No signal detected",

Do you have similar problems with this card under MP 1.2.2?
Can some help me with these issues?

I'm using MP 1.2.2 with patch [TBS2.0] from mm1352000.

I will try post logs from my MP as soon as possible.

Best regards,
superbaton

    Hi superbaton

I guess you are starting a thread after getting tired of waiting for a reply from me - I'm sorry but I just have not had time to make any response to you.

I think there are several things that I want to say in response to you.

The first key point is that the blue light is active when the tuner is:
    1. Initialised.
    2. Locked on a signal.

I have performed tests and I can confirm that even when I tell the tuner to turn the power to the LNB off *the blue light stays on* because *the tuner is still locked on signal*. It is not using so much power (ie. it is not 100% "active"), however the light stays on. The only way to get the light to turn red is to completely release control of the tuner. In technical terms, that is to destroy the tuner graph. This must be what DVB Dream does when you change channels. TV Server does not perform that way and I am very reluctant to implement such a behaviour as actually it will almost certainly lead to slower channel changes.

In my opinion, the solution for the first problem is to stop the TV service before standby/hibernate and start it again after resume. Whether you do that by script or some other means is up to you. This would also resolve the second problem. An alternative resolution for the second problem would be to enable "reinitialise TV Server on resume" - it seems the tuner requires this. Note that I don't use standby + resume as my PC starts quite quickly and is completely off most of the time (while I'm at work).

    Hi mm1352000,

Thank you for your anwser. I will try to use the script as you menton to start/stop TVService. I hope it will solve my problems for time being.
