Hello

Can anyone tell me why im getting this "tearing" in my recordings? I have around 98% i signal strength and around 80% in signal quality. With my other card(Tevii S660) i dont have this problem, but a bunch of others.

Hopefully the tearing shown in the picture can be fixed some way.

Thanks.

    Hi there

Tearing is not usually a problem with recordings. If you had signal problems during the recording then you might expect to see pixellation and stuttering. Not tearing though. As I understand it, tearing is usually a codec or graphics card issue. Try turning on V-Sync or using different applications or codecs for playing the file.

Okey. This problem is not on playback. It can occur every 10 second in one recording and never in another recording. And it happens on every computer I try to play the file on.

May it be a problem with my card? the driver maybe?

    Okay then

    Please do the following:

    1. Clear your TV Server logs (in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log).
    2. Record a short (1 - 3 minutes) recording on the tuner that produces the bad recordings.
    3. Verify that the recording has the tearing issue.
    4. Zip up the TV Server logs.
    5. Post the logs here.

    :)

    Hello

The logs are showing a short recording. The record output file are having the same issue. Tried to play it on 3 computers with different players and the same problem.

I hope you find something in the logs that can help me.

    :)

    Hi again

    No errors in the logs.
    Do you get the tearing:
    - when watching live TV with that tuner?
    - when watching the recordings from that tuner in MediaPortal?

    Hi again

Have you got any other USB devices connected to your system?
Try downloading and running DPC Latency Checker and see if there are any slow interrupts. If there are no problems then you should make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers for your motherbard chipset (direct from Intel/AMD/NVidia, *not* from your motherboard manufacturer). You might want to try a different USB port as well. Make sure you're using a USB 2 port *not* a USB 1.1 port...

[Edit: also make sure you're using the most up-to-date drivers from TBS]

Here is what I have done:

    - Checked that USB 2.0 is used.
    - Switched to another USB-port anyway
    - This is the only usb device connected.
    - DPC shows almost only green bars. One yellow bar sometimes.
    - Updated my TBS driver from 2.0.3.6 to 2.0.3.8. (New drivers came 24.12, ironic)
    - Updated my Intel chipset drivers.
    - Updated Mediaportal to 1.1.2

Have testet with a short recording and the problem is gone. Will report back after testing som longer recordings. So far, so good :)
Thanks for all help so far:)
