Tearing problem with m3n78-em (nvidia 8300). The same problem appears with gigabyte ga-m78sm-s2h.
Driver is the latest 191.07 or nforce 15.49.
DXVA used of course (Sempron or Athlon x2 processors).

Video is 1080p and TV signal is 1080p/50hz (also tried with 24hz and 60hz, tv is european).
Video for example vicky-christina-barcelona - time 38:08.

The problem doesn't appear with MPC-HC !!! Even without the 3d option.
Any ideas how to solve it?
Is it possible to have a non-tearing video 1080p using hardware acceleration (DXVA) same as in MPC?

By tearing i assume you mean a horizontal rip in the video.
Turn vsync to always on in nvidia control panel, this should stop tearing.

    ...

Since you are using vista, you should set EVR as the renderer, i think you also have to turn on Aero (but i'm not 100% sure)
MP can be made to use MPC-HC.
I would suggest you use MPC-HC codecs, use SAF to do this.
I suggest you also enable dyanmic refresh rate changer.

    Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I mean horizontal rip in the video, a little "jumps" in the picture, especially in 1080p with 720p and 1080p movies.
I use the MPC codec (SAF, and self-installed).
I turned on Aero with EVR - Did make a change.
I will try the vsync as well.
The best picture I got so far is with MPC-HC with EVR and 3d feature on.
I will also try to use a more powerful CPU instead of the sempron, should it affect the result?

Another thing, When I use VMR the hardware decoding is off, don't know why (non DXVA). With VMR I can't use subtitles and I do need it.

I have the same board and it plays without tearing. The processor can make a difference, even if it is lightly loaded, if it does not have HT3. All the newer AMD processors have the faster HT but it can be a problem if you have a 4850e or older processor. See this thread. Also check the shared memory size and make sure it is 256 or bigger.
