Hello everyone,
today I got my Technotrend Budget S2-3200 PCI DVB-S2 - Card delivered and installed it right away. But to my
surprise my power supply just started making a screeching noise and a very nice fireworks effect - BAMM
Yeah, you would say - PSUs don't explode - but I openend it, and a chip inside the PSU really blew up
Just wanted to see if someone experienced the same issues with this card. I think the card was operating
outside the PCI-specifications, and drew to much power over the PCI-bus.
(Please don't bother to tell me about proper installation, or that the PSU was not able to handle the second card - it was an Amacrox FreeEarth 350 watts psu for an configuration that needed 120 watts when fully loaded )
Update: With a new PSU, the card works perfect. Maybe the old PSU was damaged beforehand after all
(just wanted to tell this story )
