Hello

Could somebody please answer me if it is correct that different cards have the same name in TVsetup ?

Both my Tevii cards (different models) are named the same. "Tevii DVB-S/S2 Receiver"
Having some problem using both tevii cards at the same time, wondering if this is the cause.

Seeing some errors in error.log on every start of tvservice, but i also saw them on my testmachine when i only used one card and it worked fine:

2010-02-26 16:59:01.218750 [TVService(5)]: dvb: Failed to add bda receiver: TeVii DVB-S/S2 Receiver. Is it in use?

Re: 2 Cards with same name in TVsetup.

Hello again

Nobody here using MP with two tuners from Tevii that could tell if they are named different ?
Or anybody else running to identical cards from another brand ?

Re: 2 Cards with same name in TVsetup.

I do not have Tevii cards. I do have two other identical cards and they have the same name.

I am not sure this answer you question, because if i understood you correct you cards are not identical, but only the same brand.

Any way: Please attach logging, else the chance is small we can help.

Re: 2 Cards with same name in TVsetup.

I have a dual card and both tuners appear as the same name, but it doesn't cause a problem as they're identified uniquely internally to MP by PCI/USB whatever - so this shouldn't be your issue.

I also have a Tevii USB device though, and I see the same issue as you, i.e. the "Failed to add bda receiver: Tevii DVB-S/S2 Receiver. Is it in use?" message. I've never got to the bottom of what causes this. For me, it means that sometimes it takes up to a minute (!) to tune a channel using the Tevii for the first time. Subsequent channel changes are OK, though. There's a thread somewhere about changing USB ports fixing this issue, search on Tevii and you should find it. I've not tried that solution yet. Also try allowing that device to be preloaded, that may help?

Re: 2 Cards with same name in TVsetup.

Hello

Thanks for the replies.
I have done some more checking and there seem to be the same problem when I only use the Tevii S660 usb reciver.

Tvservice.exe freezes and the only way to recover is to reset by button.
I'v tried the debug thing with mediaportal and attached the file in this post. seems though it doesn't take the error.log from the server as it is 0kb in size. I have manually copied it to the .zip.

Edit: By freeze i mean that i cant end ith with net stop or kill the .exe with taskkill. Mediaportal client can still access the EPG and stream from my DVB-T card.

Could you please supply all logs? (You can use the MP Logs collector) --> I was too soon i see.

I can not promise any support on this because your OS (WHS) is NOT supported.

Re: 2 Cards with same name in TVsetup.

What problem do you have with the S660? Does it take a very long time to tune? Do you see its blue light flashing repeatedly whilst waiting for the channel to appear?

Re: 2 Cards with same name in TVsetup.

Hi

Think I have a problem with the S660 and not as I thought from the beginning that it was when using two recivers.
I'm unable to do anything with the card now. Won't even scan.

jonm

No it's not slow, it's not working at all.

I know WHS is not supported and are not demanding any support. Would be really nice to get it working though.
MDAPI a should be able to turn of and only tune som FTA channel for testing of the card.

Could i somehow clear the settings in database and start over? So that there aren't any strange things there that are screwing with me ?

You can uninstall MP and choose for full uninstall to remove everything (including the DB).
