First of all - a big congratulations on the great leap forward in stability that RC2 seems to be! If most of the remaining bugs and problems are ironed out in the final 0.2 release I think this can be a real breakthrough for this excellent application.

I have been using RC2 since the day it was released. I almost exclusively use My TV. I do a lot of recording and Timeshifting and I have come accross the following problems this far:

Area: Media Portal Program
MP Version: 0.2.0 RC2
Skin: Blue two 16:9
Windows Version: XP MCE2005 Sp2
CPU Type: Intel P4 3.2GHz HT
Memory: 1024 Mb DDR dual in line
Motherboard Chipset: Asus P5GD1
Video Card: Nvidia Gforce 6600GT
Video Card Driver: Forceware Version: 72.14
Video Render Type: VMR9
Video Codec Type & Version: Nvidia pure video decoder 1.02-150

TV Card: Hauppauge Win TV Nova DVB-T and Leadtek Winfast PVR2000
TV Card Type: Hardware & DVB-T
TV Card Driver: Hauppauge ver 2.104.22345.0 & Winfast ver. 5.13.22.6104

1. Audio is sometimes out of sync when timeshifting. This has only appeared on DVB-T channels without AC3-audio. All other channels, analog and digital, seem to be in sync. I have not been able to determin any circumstances that trigger this.
Also - nothing seems to happen when changing between ac3-audio and other audio. I think I saw something about this in Mantis so you are probably on top of this.

2. A long awaited feature for me is the ability to keep MP running in the tray when exciting the program. This seems to work well most of the time but I have experienced situations when things go wrong when I hit the exit button. Either the application freezes or it seems like the application does not let go of the Direct X/overlay somehow. This results in the windows desktop not being able to show, instead MP "flickers" on top of it all. I don't know if I've managed to describe this very well. Sorry.

3. When watching a recorded TV-program the title of the program from the EPG is stored but the short text about the contents of the program is not shown when moving the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen. I think this was possible before, was it not? It is still available when moving the mouse pointer over the list of recordings.

Wow, I guess that's it! I can't think of any other problems I've encountered with My TV this far! Excellent work Devs!

The only way I can guarantee 100% that MP will close to tray on my system is to stop any media from playing (although it seems that sometimes videos and DVDs will stop by themselves on exit, and if you're lucky resume later), turn off the tv, go to the homescreen and hit the close button.

Yes, this seems to be the workaround. If you forget about it though - you are in trouble!

Would it be difficult for the programmers to make MP stop all media playback before minimizing if you hit the close button? This would probably save a lot of trouble for beginners that have not figured out the workaround. (Also - it makes it a lot easier to explain to my girlfriend how she can access the desktop of the computer without risking that she messes things up).

Tell me about it - I flat with 5 others (they haven't been introduced to MP yet as we're all on holiday) and I can see things falling to pieces when they want to launch iTunes.

It'd be perfect if it could stop any media and turn off the TV when you hit the close button in the home screen 8)
