This Is driving me nuts

Today I tried to install Mediaportal for the first time on a clean PC because I wanted to build a strong DVR so after a hour or two of downloading updates and making sure all is up to par. I go to the server config to setup the TV tuners and when I started to scan for channels it came up (NO SIGNAL) on all the channels, so I click over to the settings tab to make sure that it was all set to NTSC standards and sure enough.....it was not. So Im guessing that it was because of that reason I was not getting any channels to show up. But when ever I try to change these setting in the stream config menu to US NTSC standards it keeps on going back to PAL/SECAM.

well I guess the question is how do you restart the server? After I hit the OK button and load up the server config go back to settings and it still set to PAL/SECAM? so not knowing anything about servers I just killed the TV process by Ctrl -Alt-Del to see if that would restart the server and I think it did but still .....the stream config is set to PAL/SECAM Im at a loss.

My second guess is that my be some how I downloaded some European drivers or something like that.

About a year ago I saw this USB analog TV tuner at Aldi for cheap so I bought it when I got home I called tech support to find the latest drivers. The support guy said that the card was really made by Kworld and told me the real name of the device and what site to download the newest drivers because the ones that came on the install cd were junk...But time has passed and I forgot the real model name of the USB adapter ..I tried to call them today but no dice the tech guy said he did not know.. So I tried do download their drivers from the Aldi’s support site (Unisupport.net :: Welcome! to see what the name came up as I tried to download them and it said PV-TV303URF

I did further looking in the drivers on windows and found out that it is an eMPIA Technology 2863 device ...if that helps

look at the pics if that too will help

Q1. Why are you using an NTSC analog card if you want to build a "strong dvr" ?
You need an ATSC digital card to decode the newer digital transmissions. If you live in a rural area then you will get mixed digital + analogue. But urban areas get all digital and possible zero analogue transmissions? I live in a rural area and use a combo card that has both ATSC and NTSC inputs.

Q2. Did you install the video capture card driver and test it with the software that came with the card (usually download the latest version)? This gives you a solid baseline before you begin playing with MP.

Q3. Fill out your My System details in the "User CP" menu in this forum web page. These details are helpful when trying to provide support.
