Hi,
I'm having a strange problem with the timeshift files, since upgrading to the current version SVN. (My previous version seemed to work, it was TVE3 and mediaportal 16622.

When timeshifting HD channels now, they get to a certain point then the video stops. The audio continues a while, then stops too. Then mediaportal hangs, and I see a windows error appear, then disappear behind the gui.

I assumed this was due to the timeshift file running out of space, so I tried changing the timeshift file settings undee "general settings" in the tvserver setup.

I set it to 8192Mb, 1 file min, 8 files max, hoping this would give enough space for about an hour of timeshifting HD.

I noticed when the timeshift file got created though, that the file created was 3.64GB - every time I stopped and started tv (HD and SD) the same size was created 3.64GB.

I tried some other sizes and got the following totally random results:

5000 = 672mb
6000 = 1.58gb
7000 - 2.58gb
8000 = 3.45gb
16000 = 2.9gb
25000 = 3.28gb
32000 = 1.8gb
128000 = 3.2gb
512000 = 857mb
999999 - 3.32gb
999999999 = 2.57gb

The only one that worked, was when I set it to 4096, and a file 3.81GB was created - which seemed correct.

I also noticed, that a 2nd or 3rd timeshift file was not being created when the first got full. I tried setting the "min" number of files to 2, or 3, but there is always only 1 created.

I also noticed, that below 4096MB, the file sizes seem to be correct. For example, I set it to make 100MB files, and it did.

The smaller the file, the sooner the HD channel froze, while timeshifting.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening, and why it doesn't create files as defined, when above 4GB?

Thanks for your help.

Dan.

Anyone have any ideas? Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Does anyone know if this is a bug, or by design?
