Timeshift doesn't work anymore (1 Viewer)

Hi,

My card does not seem to allow timeshift anymore. If I have it enabled in MP onfig it won't allow me to watch TV. It just goes into the TV page but doesn't display any picture or sound. Without timeshift everything is ok. However, I cannot record one channel and watch another which I should be able to do as I have a dual tuner card (Hauppage Nova USB stick). I think this may also be linked to timeshift? Does MP use timeshift when recording one channel and watching another?

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi sleepycol,

    do you use the old TV Engine (TVE2)? I asking cause only in the old TV Engine its possible to deactivate the timeshifting.

    Try to use the new one TVE3.

    Hi,

    Yes I use the in-built TV engine. I didn't want to use the new version as I didn't want to complicate my setup. It used to work ok with the in-built engine. The new TV engine seems way to complicated to setup and I dont need it to act as a server or anything. Just basic TV operation.

    Any help with the in-built engine would be much appreciated.....

    Hi,

    It seems whenever I go into TV and then enable timeshift MP hangs. It completely freezes and the picture goes black. New logs attached.

    Cannot see any problem in logs, what happens if you use another folder on your c drive, instead of the E one, just wondering if a permission thing, anything you can remember doing\changing when this occured.

    And I'm with Marvman, with dvb tuners you really should be using TVE3 by now :)

    Hi,

    Just tried changing the folder from E:\ to C:\ but the same problem occurs. Don't remember doing any changes. I didn't want to use TVE3 as it looks complicated to set up and I wanted to keep m install simple and I would have no need to use TVE3 as the internal TV would suffice for what I need.

    Biggest problem you may have, is none of us use the inbuilt tv engine, and for the life of me, cannot remember all the old issues that there used to be with it or if there are any windows updates, that may have broken things :(

    Sorry, not much help.

    I guess there is really no support for the in-built TV engine? This is such a shame as its very simple to setup and keeps the install much cleaner. I would have thought quite a few people use this engine.

    Please can you offer support for this?

    Hi Colin,

    first it's no shame to go with new technologies, the installation with TV-Server isn't harder ;)

    To your problem:


    1. did you reinstall MP?
    2. did you disabled all plugIn's
    3. Maybe i found your problem, your codec caused some problems
