Area: Media Portal Program / My TV
MP Version: 0.2.0.0 (RC1) (original or any CVS I've installed so far)
Skin: Any
Windows Version: XP SP2
CPU Type: P4 2,8 HT
Memory: 1 GB
Motherboard Chipset: North Bridge: ATI RS300 South Bridge: IXP200
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9100 Integrated Graphics (128 MB shared)
Video Card Driver: Catalyst 5.8
Video Render Type: VMR9 / Overlay
Video Codec Type & Version: Any
Audio Codec Type & Version: Any
TV Card: Terratec Cinergy T2 USB
TV Card Type: DVB-T
TV Card Driver: 2.1.0.10 (BDA)

When starting timeshift or recording MP crashes within a few seconds. Live TV is fine without problems, EPG does work, Teletext does not work

Windows reports:

AppName: mediaportal.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0
ModName: mptswriter.ax
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00002157

This has already started in 0.13 when CVS had been switched to TS recording.

Thanks,
Michael

there is a bug with DVB-T in 0.2RC1

it has been added into ::mantis::

but you are the first DVB-T user that reports a crash here when using timeshift

yes - it does not matter whether I'll try recording or timeshifting - both will end in a crash of MP after a few (2-5) seconds (if not instantly).

Offset reported by Windows seems always being the same, regardless which CVS used.

what about a recording with tv turned off? does that crash it also? you didnt mention how it was tested.

    Steve

I've tested both - hitting the record/timeshift buttons in Live TV and recording unattended (planned recording) while MP was in the main menu.

I've never managed to get a resulting .ts file larger than 5 MB, most times it's not even 1 MB!

maybe its a driver problem because the 2.1.0.10 is Beta
I've found no reports so far that this driver will cause trouble in other DVB applications. And it#s not even the first Beta of the T2 BDA Driver, so known issues have alreday been fixed in this version!

And this would not really explain why Live TV does work without a glitch as long as I do not start timeshifting/recording?!

You're (at least partially) right. Tested with a Pinnacle PCTV 200e (USB) and timeshifting and recording is no problem so far. No more crashes.

As the Cinergy T2 BDA driver works at least with the Terratec TV app and ShowShifter maybe the mptswriter.ax filter could be made a bit more fault tolerant?

    Thanks,
    Michael
