Or everyone can start using Argus ;) :D

Not to sound too harsh but as long as this project is closed source I would never switch to it (not even if it would perform considerably better then the mediaportal tv-server).

    Agreed.

This is a massive shame, because it seems that MediaPortal would really benefit from FTR, quite possibly even by making it the default. I don't really understand why you have built something for an open-source project such as MediaPortal and not made it open-source yourself.

    Best wishes,

SilentException is right, this is not the right place for this discussion. But just wanted to clear up this misconception: FTR is not built for MP, it's a solution on its own, with several clients (one of which is for MP).

Guess not. There were some comments from the MP devs, and For The Record's Argus is now using asynchronous I/O for its .tsbuffer writing which seems to improve things a lot for most users.

Is this single looping ts file in a patch for MP still alive?

Well, at the moment there is no chance of it being included in the MediaPortal codebase, since we are trying to get 1.2.0 out, and this means stability. Maybe if there are significant benefits, it could be included for 1.3.0.
