I'm worried about timeshifting wearing out my harddrive.
Since I can't disable it, can I use a standard USB flash stick for timeshifting? Is it fast enough and/or will it die quickly from the excessive read/writes?
I tried an 8GB Corsair Flash Voyager USB stick without success, as every so often I would see a slight stutter. I formatted the stick using FAT32 as well as NTFS, and tweaked various timeshifting parameters in the TV server configuration menu, all without success. There is no stuttering while using the hard-drive for timeshifting, so the USB stick has been removed from my HTPC.
FWIW, mine's still working perfectly on a cheap 4GB stick (formatted NTFS) after a few months. Some other people however say it doesn't work for them. Flash sticks are so cheap now, why not just try it? The one I'm using only cost me £5.
If I understand correctly, your device is combination of DVB-C tuner, router and some web access to play the channels in PC web browser. You can sniff http comunication with the help of Wireshark or Fiddler to determine channel url which can be used to create IPTV channel in TV server. If the url is not static(changes dynamically)...

Still working on it, although a bit slowly.
Only one major thing I need to add: reliably sending keypresses to the webview2 (need that for netflix's skip 15sec. etc)
after that it's time for testing

I'm not sure what the issue was, but I decided to try a different way of solving the problem.
My server has a 2.5Gbps port and the 10Gbps card I added, so I've connected the HD Homerun directly to the 2.5G port, and its solved the problem, I can now copy large multiple files to the server and not suffer with picture issues.
There is...

I just came across WiFi Remote in a roundabout way. I am looking for a way to remotely control my HTPC, which is located in my home theatre room with a beamer and has Media Portal installed, from the living room, where there is a TV that is connected to the HTPC.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to do this remote control once the...
