I have installed TinyXP, Windows Management Instrumentation, WMP 11 but when starting the TVserice configuration, it just says Error: "TVService not started" even though it says "Started" under Services?

Anyone who can help me please?

Installing those "tiny" versions of windows are not recommended as they may be missing components of Windows necessary to run Mediaportal.

I agree with piranha, but what you could try (as I sometimes do have the same issue when installing a new SVN):

Just reinstall TVserver (ONLY TVserver); it will ask you if you want to Add/Remove/Reinstall components or Uninstall. Select Reinstall. For me it does help in these cases.

What you could try also: Kill the Task TVservice in the Taskmanager (not in services) and retry to start the configuration. Sometimes this helps also. There must be a difference if you stop it by services or by the taskmanager, do not ask me why.

I had the same problem. The configuration utility gives the "tvservice not started" error while the windows service had started succesfully. I tried to restart the service several times but without success. AlfredENeuma's solution (kill the tvservice process) worked perfectly, thank you!
