Is there any public todo list of the current MP development state? I tried to search the forum but didn't find any. A year ago there was a todo.txt, what happened to that file?

There is no such list. The old todo.txt was from the early MP days and was just obsolete, so it got removed.

I can understand that a "what I am currently working on" list might be difficult to maintain, and it's hard to force people to keep it up to date when they would rather be coding. However, it might be nice to have:

    1. A list of the major ongoing projects, and who the primary contact is. This would give people someone to PM and ask if they would be duplicating work if they think up a great new (or maybe not new (this is what we would try to prevent)) feature.

    2. A list of partly finished or unstarted (but worthy) projects that people could take on if they wanted to try coding but didn't have a great idea of their own.

This might require a person to maintain the lists, as it is usually impossible to get everyone to do it themselves. If anyone else thinks that this is a worthwhile idea... or if you think that this is already handled well enough... or it is already being done somewhere...

Oh, and I'll volunteer if you need a list maintainer, you just have to wait till the second week of September, when my "summer of going to out-of-town weddings every weekend" comes to an end.

Since my radio is very close to the TV Engine for FM radio and very close to Music Engine for streaming radio I think some work is beeing done :)

Slow day at work today, so I was working on this for a few minutes. Far from complete but open for comments, the first concept is at

I personally think this is a good idea... Case in point is the MPblue project and the new Pocket PC app being created by Burty89. I know burty89 was aware of the MPblue project but at this point it was pretty much unusable so he is working on his own. These are 2 good developers pretty much writing the same code that does the same thing. Not very efficient in my eyes. Once the new TV engine is released (I see this as the largest upgrade to MP in the last 2 years) people will really start taking a look at MP over other HTPC software. The DEV's will come and we need a place for them to go to work with other Dev's or to know what is current being worked on. I have a lot of free time here at work and would be very willing to lend a hand.

I think what you have so far is great. I think with the amount of projects that are currently being worked on and new projects will outgrow your tree diagram. I different layout would probably help. You also might want to consider creating a template for the wiki. I worked on this a little bit with the plug-ins. This way anyone could have access to this and more than one person could update it.

I have also had this problem in the past. There are two components to this problem: Your internet router is pinging the HTPC at regular intervals in order to see if the HTPC is still present on the network. The network adapter in the HTPC has "Wake on Lan" enabled. So at the end of a recording, the HTPC transitions from away mode to...

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...
