Is there a tool around, maybe even third party, that can be run in the background or taskbar to continously monitor and log CPU load?

Searched Internet, did not find anything.

Usage: Assist in setting up MP, selecting codecs and compressions and back ground tasks, .. identify bottlenecks. E.g. a codec demanding lot of CPU power and a compression task in the background also.. which in the end ends up with stuttering system..

I use Process Explorer. It's a freeware program that is actually very good. You can check it out HERE.

PerfMon comes with windows and can be found in the administritive tools folder in the control panel.

Once open you can add counters to the graph. To monitor total CPU you would select the processor and total cpu monitor.

You can find plenty of answers on google as it is used by many Windows SysAdmins etc.

    Thank you very much..
I found out how to use it..
I will set it up to write CPU load to a log file and investigate later bottlenecks and high load times..
    Thats nice..
