There is no reason it can't find them unless the data in your database is incorrect or your settings are filtering them out, the trailers do exist online for English:Example of movies it doesn't find trailers for:
Jackie Brown
Good Will Hunting

To know why it's not working for you I would need to see Debug logs after you attempt to play a trailer. MediaPortal provides a shortcut in the start menu to start in Debug-Mode (Choose 2nd option i.e. report a bug to plugin developer), this generates logs on the desktop afterwards.
I have tested with a collection of 2000 movies and have 100% success rate (there were a few missing initially but I added them online).
Ideally you have TMDb IDs's stored in your database e.g. in MovingPictures it stores these if you download posters/fanart from there. If TMDb's are not available it also does by IMDb ID and finally Title+Year which can be inaccurate if not exact in user database.
