Transfer settings from one installation to another? (1 Viewer)

Hi all, I have just made my first installation of Mediaportal on a dedicated HTPC. It now works the way I want it after some tweaking. I would now like to reinstall Windows XP and do a fresh install (including drivers, codecs and Mediaportal). Is there a way to backup only the Mediaportal settings (not backup the whole folder/installation) and transfer them to a new installation?

I am prepared to write an util that does the job if I only knew where the current settings where stored. I have searched the Manual, Wiki, Forums, Mediaportal folder, Windows Registry etc. without getting that much wiser. That’s why I now ask you developers straight out. Does anyone know what settings would be transferable between installations and where they are kept?

Thanks in advance…

Most of the settings are stored in XML files in the Mediaportal (& sub) folders i.e. MediaPortal.xml & capturecards.xml hold MP's settings and the TV configurations respectively.
Things like TV recordings, Music, Radio, etc. are all stored in Mediaportal\database\ folder.
I think (a developer can correct me) about the only stored in the registry is MP's location\path.
So it would be fairly trivial to copy all xml and db3 files to a new location provided the hardware and file locations are exactly the same.

I believe the main file you would need just for configuration would be MediaPortal.xml.

    Hope this helps.
