Hello together,

Since a couple of days I'm trying to setting up the Translator to work together with PowerDVD10.
I think it should be quite simple. Maybe I'm to stupid I don't know.

Let me start a few days ago.
I've got MP RC1 with IR Suite 1.4.2.3496 on Vista 32-bit.
Configured for a TT remote coming with the TT-budget S2-3200.
Everything is working fine, but I want to use my BluRay-Drive too.
Therefore I installed PowerDVD10.0.1516.51
Installed HDStarter and configured it. It worked out of the box.
Now I configured Translator to start with windows.
Added a new program called "PowerDVD10" and added all remote buttons and mapped them to the corresponding keystrokes.
I thought that was it, but it doesn't work.
The last couple of days I searched around what I did wrong, but I cant find the error.
Is there anybody who can help me?

I checked the log files and saw that IR Server correclty identifies the button which was pressed on the remote.
If I press the "down" button I'm getting the following log entry in the irserver-log:
2010-04-04 10:16:21.131600 - Debug: Technotrend generated a remote event: 81
2010-04-04 10:16:21.132600 - Debug: Down, remote: Technotrend, device: Technotrend
2010-04-04 10:16:21.132600 - Info: Abstract Remote Button mapped: Down
2010-04-04 10:16:21.132600 - Debug: SendToAll(RemoteEvent, Notify)

In the translator.log I'm getting the following:
2010-04-04 10:16:21.132600 - Debug: Received Message "RemoteEvent"
2010-04-04 10:16:21.142600 - Debug: Active program not found in Translator program list
2010-04-04 10:16:21.142600 - Debug: No mapping found for KeyCode = Down

I think there is the key. Translator can't see that PowerDVD10 is already running and has the focus.
I dont know why, but I also changed the program name within the translator config. Maybe i have to be the same as listed in the task manager. But nothing helped.
Is there any config file i can change or check?

If there is anybody who have an idea, please let me know!

Bye
Max

PowerDVD does not work with Translator, well not when your in full screen video any way, this has been an outstanding issue that has never been addressed... I was about to write a bug report my self, but seeing I've done this all ready months ago I don't know if there is much use in it... I'm not sure for the reason of not resolving this, it has to be quite a problem I imagine though...

AW: Translator/PowerDVD10 not working

Hi thesystemera,

Thx for your response.

I think I understand what you mean. This problem is known since a couple of month, but was never fixed. Right?
However I couldn't find any post belonging to this problem.

Probably I shouldn't ask, but is there any change to get it fixed.
Or does anyone know how to get around thi?
Maybe with another remote?
Another ir-receiver?
Is the arcsoft player working with Translator?
Or is there any other plugin to get it running?
(I think there are a lot of PowerDVD users who uses a remote)

Thx all!
Max

AW: Translator/PowerDVD10 not working

Hi all!

After some days of thinking and some discussion with one of my collegues, I decided to search a little bit deeper.
I wanted to check, if my first thought was correct, e.g. Translator can not find PowerDVD because of a naming problem.
I installed SpyUI out of the Microsoft SDK.
There you can see how every window is registered by the system.
AND you can see, that PowerDVD-Process has a different Name to the windows and to the main windows name.
After this I renamed the already configured Program "Cyberlink PowerDVD 10.0" to "PowerDVD10", the name of the associated process. An it worked!
If you wanna switch to the cinema mode, you can even do this!
But PowerDVD is doing this with some "trick", the actual process is killed, and another one started.
The new one is named "PowerDVDCinema10".
I added another program to Translator with that name and it is works too!:D
Here a screenshot!

Now everything is working.
Thx to all!:D
Have a nice day!

Bye
Max
