Transport stream (ts) files and external video player (1 Viewer)

I am using MP a few days now and have recorded a few (small) files in ts format.
When i burn this file on a DVD i would like to play it on my DVD players from Philips (3595 and/or 0725).
These player support the following format:
Video Format
Digital compression DVD, SVCD: MPEG2
VCD: MPEG1

You would make me very happy when i am able to record directly in the correct format for my 2 players without conversion.

I am a newcomer in this area, so a simple explanation will be appreciated !!!

I am not an expert, but my understanding is that MP records the files in the native format which is it transmitted in. As a standalone application it this single format does everything required and does not required any licensing etc. Clearly there are people all over the world who do different things with their recorded programmes, but for MP to cater for them all would be distracting the Devs from the main task, which is to provide a TV and media .... portal.

I suggest it is highly unlikely that the Devs would work on recording to another format as it won't fulfil the main requirements of the software and will also require processing power (thus making the rest of the interface run slower).

There are many third party applications around, many of which can "watch" a folder for new recording and transcode files automatically when they become available in the directory. I suggest you try one of them.

Or, you could burn your DVD as a normal watchable DVD disc, rather than just the raw files.
