TV-Server Version: RC3
MediaPortal Version: RC3
Windows Version: XP Professional (on a Domain)
I have one machine up and running perfectly... I'm very impressed with RC3, and I wanted to put it on a second machine with identical hardware. I used Ghost to copy the drive from the first to the second machine, which presented its own problems (NTLDR and Boot.ini missing). I found a solution for that, and I renamed the computer so that it could join our domain.
Everything seems to be up and running well, except for TVServer.
I've found and changed the following values:
-SQL-Server settings point to the new machine name "xxxx\SQLServerExpress"
-in the database, I changed dbo.Server.HostName to "xxxx"
-in MP Configuration, I changed Television > TV Client > TV-Server Hostname to "xxxx"
Currently, if I try to open TV-Server Configuration, I get the message "The TV service is not running. Start it now?". Choosing "no", configuration doesn't open, and choosing "yes", I get a dialog that says "TvService not started." Once configuration opens, I can see the new machine name under "TV Servers"; but, it doesn't show any cards being present. If I click on the entry under "TV Servers", I get the "TvService not started" message again; but, this time, the dialogs keep coming back until I use Task Manager to kill the process.
Can anyone tell me what I've missed? Or, is there a way to just reinstall the TVEngine? Any help would really be appreciated... I'm hoping to get this working without reinstalling MediaPortal entirely.
Thanks in advance,
Scott
